The Triskelion Grand Foundation, Inc, the charitable organization founded by brothers and sisters based in the United States and Canada recently initiated a campaign to raise One Million Pesos (US $20,000.00) to support the Fraternity and its various programs and projects in the Philippines. To be known as the Triskelion Fund, the Foundation will provide financial assistance for both school and community-based projects in the fields of education (scholarship awards/professorial chairs), environmental management (cleanliness and beautification, reforestation) , physical wellness (medical and dental missions) and financing (loans for rural micro-enterprises) .
One Million Pesos as an initial goal might sound ambitious to some but the Foundation does not believe so. As a matter of fact, $5,000.00, representing 25 % of our goal has already been pledged by five (5) Board Members to jump-start the fund-raising campaign because we are convinced of the rationale and justification for this effort and the impact it will generate to elevate our Fraternity to the next higher level. It is about time that we show the world who we really are and what we are made of as a Fraternity.”
If you will add the $2,900.00 that has been collected in previous campaigns and held in trust by the members of the Foundation, we are on track to secure $7,900.00 or PhP 395,000.00, which makes up 40 % of our goal, by the end of January 2007.
All bona-fide members of the Tau Gamma Phi, Tau Gamma Sigma and Triskelion Youth Movement in the United States and Canada are automatically members of the Foundation. However, in order to maintain their membership in good standing with voting rights, benefits and other privileges, they will have to share their annual membership dues initially set at $100.00. We are confident that we will be able to secure or even exceed the remaining $12,100.00 or 60% of our goal because it will take only a minimum of 121 Brothers and/or Sisters who will step forward and commit to this endeavor. $100.00 is just equivalent of $8.33 per month or $2.08 per week, a small amount of sacrifice in exchange for being a partner in this project which we are convinced will have a great impact in the lives of students in the schools and people in the communities we serve.
In a tele-conference held December 30, 2006 and participated in by 13 Board Members, the Foundation also decided to issue a statement expressing all-out support to the Triskelion Global Coordinating Council (TGCC).
The Foundation strongly believes that the TGCC is the only entity in the Philippines capable of coordinating and implementing the reunification, reorientation and revitalization efforts of the Tau Gamma Phi. We share the vision of the three Founding Fathers Rod, Roy and Talek for a united, reformed and stronger Fraternity and their unequivocal support for the TGCC. We also recognize the support for TGCC of majority of Triskelions here in the United States and Canada, in the Philippines and all over the world.
The Foundation also recognizes and commends Bro./Gov. Raffy Nantes (NU 1974) and the rest of the TGCC team for their tireless efforts and selfless sacrifices the past four years. It is about time that we rally behind them and support them in order to hasten their efforts.
The Foundation also denounces in the strongest possible term any, selfish, ill-motivated, deceptive and desperate attempt by any individuals or group of individuals to further delay, derail, disrupt and undermine the difficult tasks of the TGCC. The Foundation enjoins all Triskelions not to promote, encourage, support, assist and participate in such attempts and to exercise everything in their power to prevent such individuals or group of individuals from pursuing or attempting to further divide and rule the Fraternity.
